Poll Dorsets
Our Poll Dorset program began in in 2018 with the purchase of 22 ewes from the Coledale Stud in Bungeet Vic. Ewes were purchased from the Yaralla stud Dispersal and the eventual purchase of the majority of the Feltrim stud of which compromised of 120 Highly Indexed ewes and a stud sire. In 2023 we made the major decision to purchase the Coledale stud comprising of 400 scanned in lamb ewes and 4 stud sires. We made the decision to maintain the Coledale prefix so that we can continue the work and uphold the name of this 50 year old stud. Our breeding aims direct towards a flock ram that will sire trade lambs for the domestic market. We aim for low birth weights, high weaning weights, dressing percentage and high eye muscle. As always structural soundness is a non negotiable phenotype that must be displayed. The core of our breeding program is driven by LAMBPLAN performance recording. Performance recording is our key method to delivering results to clients.
