Hampshire Downs
The Glen West Stud program began in 2012 with the purchase of just 4 pregnant Hampshire Down ewes from the Burrandool stud in Euroa, Victoria. Further genetics were included from the Wollondale stud (NSW) as well as Maranagana (TAS),Aurora Park ( VIC) and Glen Elk ( VIC). The stud has aims of providing seedstock and flock rams with; • High Intramsucluar fat and eating quality traits-with the majority of our flock ranking in the top 5% for IMF across all breeds in Australia. • Low to Average Birth Weights to keep high weaning rates. • Strong Eye Muscle for carcase yield.
